Carleton DeTar (AB, Harvard College, 1966; PhD, University of California, Berkeley, 1970) is Professor of Physics at the University of Utah. His field of specialization is high energy theoretical physics. His research over the past 17 years has involved large-scale numerical simulation of QCD, with particular emphasis on high temperature QCD, the hadron spectrum, properties of the QCD vacuum, and the interactions of heavy quarks.
