Paul Hargrove has been a full-time staff member and Principal Investigator at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab since 2000. His research interests include the operating system and runtime software which support scientific applications. Current projects include Berkeley Lab Checkpoint Restart (BLCR) for Linux; adpating IBM's K42 research O/S for HPC research; and Global Address Space Networking (GASNet) for the UPC, Titanium and Co-Array FORTRAN languages. Since 1992, Paul has been a user and developer of the Linux operating system, where his most significant contribution is the Macintosh (HFS) file system module. Paul holds a Ph.D. from the Scientific Computation and Computational Mathematics program at Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University where he completed a triple major in Physics (magna cum laude), Math and Computer Science.
