Dr. Kowalski received his Ph.D. from Nicholas Copernicus University in theoretical physics. He was a postdoctoral fellow and research assistant professor in Dr. Piecuch’s group at Michigan State University. Dr. Kowalski’s research is focused on the development of coupled-cluster methods for ground- and excited-states. He is author and co-author of more than 60 peer-reviewed papers. Currently, he is working as a Senior Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
Dr. Valiev received his Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from University of Connecticut. He was a postdoctoral researcher and later a project scientist with Prof. John Weare at University of California, San Diego. Dr. Valiev’s research is focused on the development of hybrid multscale methods for extended dynamical simulations of biochemical systems. He is a primary author of hybrid local basis and plane wave code (PAW) and QM/MM interface module in NWChem computational chemistry package.
