Friedrich Roepke is a Postdoc at the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Since 2003 he has been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA), Garching, Germany. He received his Doctorate from the Technical University of Munich in 2003 on investigations on the stability of thermonuclear flames in type Ia supernova (SN Ia) explosions performed at the MPA. Currently, his research focuses on large-scale simulations of SNe Ia and on the comparison of such models with observations.
