Dr. Jirina Stone is a member of the subfaculty of Physics at Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford University, Oxford, United Kingdom. Since 1993, Dr. Stone has been a Senior Investigator under DOE grant DE-FG02-94ER40834. She is currently a Co-investigator on the SciDAC Terascale Supernova Initiative. From 1986-2000 Dr. Stone was a Co-Investigator under a SERC Nuclear Physics Rolling Grant, UK. She is a Visiting Professor in Chemistry at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is also a Visiting Staff Member in the Physics Division at ORNL.She received her PhD in 1975 from Charles University Prague, Czechoslovakia. Her research interests include nuclear structure, nuclear models, sub-nucleon effects in nuclei, nuclear physics at particle drip-lines, mean-field theories of low energy nuclear structure, nuclear matter, Equation of State, neutron stars, and supernovae physics.
