Instructions for Conference Speakers

Final presentations will be posted on the website (linked from the Agenda). Please provide your presentation as a PPT and/or PDF either on a CD or in a separate folder on your laptop (containing just that talk and associated files) so that we can easily load it to a thumbdrive or CD at the conference. Presentations will be collected during the breaks FOLLOWING each session, so we can be sure last minute changes are incorporated. Of course you are welcome to give us a copy whenever you have finalized your presentation. Please note that all presentations will be recorded for later posting on the netcast archive, and that by registering for the conference you have agreed to this. (If this is an issue for you, please contact the OC member who invited you or the conference staff ASAP)

Lengths of presentations

Featured presentations are 40 minutes each with an extra 5 minutes allowed for questions. Other invited talks have 25 minutes each, also with 5 additional minutes allowed for questions. We do provide a timekeeper with signs to show you how much time you have left to speak. If you choose to overrun into the question time, it's your choice, but we WILL have to cut you off at the end of that time. The entire schedule is TIGHT--please plan accordingly!

A/V Preparation

Although we will be expecting speakers to bring their own laptops to plug in to the projector, we will also provide a computer to play presentations brought on CDs or thumbdrives. AV staff will be available for speakers who want to show up early (or during break times) to hook up and verify equipment operation. Mac users might want to bring proper adaptors for compatibility with the projector.

Papers

Featured Speakers are expected to provide a 15 page paper for the conference proceedings. Invited Speakers are expected to provide a 10 page paper for the conference proceedings. These will be reviewed by the Organizing Committee and published both in hardcover and online, counting as an invited and peer-reviewed/referreed paper.

DEADLINES:
  • May 15: We need the official TITLE of your talk or poster by May 15 in order to include it in the printed program.
  • June 25: PAPERS are due June 25 (or when you arrive at the conference).
  • July 16: Final revisions (after comments from reviewers) are due July 16.
