Transportation Tips

The conference hotel, at 10 Huntington Avenue, is in the famed "Copley Square" section of Boston's Back Bay.

By Train

Public tranportation is convenient with Boston's "Green Line" MBTA station "Copley" one block to the north and Amtrak's "Back Bay" station two blocks to the south.

By Car

For those driving, the Copley Place interchange with the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) is one block to the south and west.

By Air + mass transit

For those arriving by air, the drive to Boston's Logan Airport is 4.4 miles. Public transportation from the airport is easy and economical, but requires three segments. From any Logan terminal, hop on complimentary Massport/MBTA shuttles #22, #33, or #55 to the MBTA "Blue Line" Airport station. Purchase a $2 "CharlieTicket" and ride inbound to "Government Center". Transfer to any outbound "Green Line" train (could be lettered B, C, D, or E). Dismount at Copley, surface and walk a block to the hotel.

The MBTA website crosslinks rail, bus, and subway map, fare, and schedule information, and the station links have local street maps.

By Air + taxi

A taxi from Logan to the Westin Copley should be in the range $20-45. There are airport fees and tunnel fees. Details about taxi services are listed on the massport website. This site also has links to rental car info.

The hotel has a 12-passenger shuttle that runs TO the airport (we recommend you reserve your transportation EARLY if you are leaving on Thursday--all 138 of you!). The hotel does NOT pick up at the airport.

DISCOUNTS for SciDAC

City Transportation and Logan Boston Hotel Shuttle will provide airport transfer service for the discounted rate of $11/person (normal rate is $15/person). Attendees need to look for one of these two bus lines and mention “SciDAC Conference” and they will receive the discounted rate.
