Biography

David is the Fu Foundation Professor of Applied Mathematics at Columbia University; he received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard in 1984.  David serves as the Acting Director of the Institute for Scientific Computing Research (ISCR) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and is a faculty affiliate of Argonne, Brookhaven, and Oak Ridge National Laboratories,   The Chair of the 2007 SciDAC Conference, David’s research interests include parallel computing, computational aerodynamics, and computational combustion.  He is the project lead for the TOPS (Terascale Optimal PDE Simulation) SciDAC initiative.
