Biography

Julie is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin, where she also serves as the Director of the Bringing Advanced Computational Techniques to Environmental Research (BACTER) Institute for Computational Biology. The BACTER Institute is funded as part of ASCR’s contribution to the Department’s Genomes: GTL (http://genomicsgtl.energy.gov/program). She received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from UC Berkeley in 1998. Her research focuses on describing the shapes of proteins, as well as computational analysis of macromolecular complexes formed by interacting proteins.
