Biography
Phani has been a research staff member in Computational Materials Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since 2001; he received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. His research interests include computational mechanics and materials science, statistical physics, multi-scale methods, bio-inspired materials, and high-performance scientific computing. A proposal he led, “Large Scale Simulations of Fracture in Disordered Media: Statistical Physics of Fracture” was selected to receive a Department of Energy Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment (INCITE) award.
