Biography

Ross is a research staff member in the Scientific Computing Group of the National Center for Computational Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.  He manages ORNL's EVEREST visualization facility, having been involved in its initial design.  He focuses on scientific visualization in support of a variety of basic science application areas, including astrophysics, materials science, and chemistry.  Specifically, he is interested in multivariate data depiction, immersive visualization, data management, and networking. He was a co-investigator of the SciDAC Terascale Supernova Initiative, working closely with project physicists in the visualization of macro- and micro-scale astrophysical phenomena.
